Good afternoon, My name is eli, Can you please tell me your name? Yes, my full name is Grace Joy Perino. Hi Eli

Part 1

Hello, Grace

I'm going to ask you some questions about yourself.  Let's talk about what you do.

I'm a producer for a specific channel here in qatar- in the state of Qatar. and i've been with my company for about ten years now.

And what do you do like most about your job?

I would say i enjoy the whole process of producting innovative new videos for the channel. We always have to come up with new ideas and new graphical work to showcase anything that's developing here in the country and i work with some pretty cool and creative people so we always manage somehow to come up with exciting projects.

And there any other industries that you would like work in?

Well, i never throught about that because i've been focused,,, i've been in the industries for about 15 years now. if i had to try another, i'd like to give a shot on being a teacher on teach some maybe high school students, maybe with English maybe.

Let's talk about painings?

I would spend a great deal of time looking at paintings i would say i practised a little bit when i was back in high school. i like playing with colours and so that's when i got interested or intrigued with a couple of paintings. But these days, no unfortunately not.

Are there any paintings that are special to you

paintings ? He gave me that painting when i turned 18. and i think it reflected my personality because it was a simple. and i think he kind of knew what was my taste in paintings. Something that makes me forget aboutmany things in y mind and just focus on the water because i enjoy being in the beach. So this painting would remind me of a nice holiday or a peaceful time by the beach.

Why do you think people can feel strong emotions when looking at paintings?

I would have to say because we have a lot of memories that we could associate when we see a certain painting or a certain picture So it could evoke- this particular painting could evoke emotions and sort of like reminiscent of something that maybe made you happy or maybe something that made you a little bit sad or it reminds you of your childhood, especially in the past when there was less of the gadgets and see and we would appreciate even like paintings of landscapes or nature or something related to even people i feel like, yeah, it king of gives us the sense of being in touch with our inner self.

Do you have a favorite day of the week?

Sunday is my favorite day of the week. i would say because i associate it with family time. and some are in australia. some are in canada. So we always make sure to find time through video calls, catching up with each other, having like, "long disctance dates", you would say, So i get to see some of my Filipino friends you would say buddies. So we have a great deal of time just laughing and doing things that we like to do at home or maybe outside.

Do you like to have a similar routine every day of the week ?

Although i am a creature of habit and i do prefer to have a particular schedule at work but i would say i like to have a variety of things that i could do if i had my free time. if i outside work. i'd like to do. maybe i'd like to watch a movie this day. or if i had more time. i'd go out of the city and visit another friend from another place. or i'd go for exploring a new restaurant. not really doing the same things all the time. if time permits.

Part 2

Okay, now, Grace, in this next time i'm going to give you a topic. and i'd like you talk about it for one or two minutes. Now before you talk. you'll have 1 minute to think abut what do you understand?

Describe someone you have become better friends with over time.

You should say:

- Who the person is

- How you know this person

- What is special about this persn

and explain why you have become better friends over time.

Thank you have two minutes for this. Can you start speaking now, please?

So, to day i'd like to talk about my good friend alex. His full name is Alex... and he's known to the 3D world as Ghost 3D. He's quite famous among the 3D. He's quite famous among the 3D designers of the world. He has a lot following on instagram, so just a little bit of background. i met him back when we were just, i think we were still in our 20s and we were just starting out. He was still a rookie 3D artist, and i was still, you would say, a budding producer. and i was trying out a couple of thigs. for a few videos, so we got to know each other better. i never thought that i could be close to. like from the opposite sex, just as friendly as we could be. One of the few things that i have experienced with this person is that he is good at his job. He's talented, conscientious. and he makes it a point to encourage everyone, not just me, at work. So on special days like my birthday and he wanted me to sort of, like make healthier choices. i never imagined that a guy friend of mine would bake me something so healthy. it was really unique, and i will never forget that. So i would say that through time he taught me a couple of other things. tecnical work. but because sometimes to ease the load on some of my teammates.

Do you think you will continue to be friends for a long time?

I absolutely would love to be his friend for a very long time. Thank you. Okay let's move on now to part three

Part 3

I'm going to ask you some more general questions related to the same theme. So first of all, consider types of friends.

Do you think it's similar to have lots of friends and then to have just a few very close friends?

Well, i would say that depending on each person's personality, other people would love to or they can maintain a lot of friends. Like they would have a lot of social groups. They would easily make friends at work or in their school or even with neighbours. But some people yes, for some people, like, i would say i'm one of them. We're a little bit on the introvert and it takes us some time to get know someone. We don't open up easily. or maybe doing things together, doing activities together for us to be closer, for people to be closer and to actually call them as a real friend because there are acquaintances and there are friends.

And what would you say is the difference between acquaintences and friends?

Well, acquaintances, maybe you could be talking to them because you have work and you don't really talk about personal stuff, but like real friends. For example, alex, when i was going through a tough time. and somehow it proved to me that. yes this is what a real friend does. There's acts of service. There's a lot of you would say time and effort to maintain the closeness. and to even grow with each other, even as professionals or as friends. I think there's a big difference between acquaintances and real friends.

Do you think it's essential for people who work together to be friends?

I wouldn't say it's essential. but it would make the work, you would say fun or it would make the work a little bit more it could be harmonious if you're getting along with each other and you're friendly with each other and you respect each other. So i think people would even go the extra mile if they knew that we're doing this together and we have the sense of teamwork and we're also friends. So, yeah, i think it's beneficial for the projects if you could be friendly and not just a little bit stiff or just business only with the people that you work with.

What kind of difficulties can put strain on a friendship?

But if certain situations force or let us have you would say there's a certain situation and you both have different options or different takes on that particular situation. and you might disagree. and in the process of disagreeing. You sort of like exchange some hurtful words to each other or another person catches a lie of the other person. i think those little details sort of get in the way of friendship and it happened also recently with our team. We were really trying to fight for one of our teammates, and one of our teammates was like, no, he deserves he deserved this punishment. And it was causing a lot of friction between friends and colleagues.

to somebody for maintaining relationships with their friends?

I guess, one of the practical tips i would say is, if you really - i do this with my day to day relationships i won't say the first thing that i thought of. which most likely i will be in the heat of the moment. i take a step back and maybe i'll leave the room first. sort of like, distance myself first and let me think let me process how i and when the time has come for me to talk to this person that i disagree with or maybe even if this person used to be my friends, i would phrase it in a more polite way, in a respectful way. Even when we're angry. we should try not to deliberately hurt each other with mean words or nasty phrases or whatever comes to our mind immediately
